Privacy Policy
Last updated June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pet Guardian Club LLC ("PetGuardian", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PetGuardian daily check-in service and the website at petguardian.club. By creating an account you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account details you give us at signup: your name, email address, password, and mobile phone number.
- Contact and safety details needed to help you: your home address, optional gate or access notes, and the name and phone number of the trusted Advocate you choose.
- Check-in activity: your daily check-in responses, the time and channel of each check-in, and pet details you add to your profile.
- Technical information such as your IP address and basic device information when you use the website.
How we use your information
- To send your daily check-in and confirm that you are okay.
- To alert your chosen Advocate with the information they need to help if we cannot reach you.
- To send account, billing, and safety notifications related to the service.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
SMS and mobile messaging
If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we send recurring text messages for your daily check-in and related account and safety notifications. Message frequency is about one message per day. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel, or reply HELP for help. You may also choose a different contact method (email or phone call) from your profile at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. No mobile information or text messaging opt-in consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for their own purposes.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- With your chosen Advocate, and only when we cannot reach you, so they can check on you.
- With service providers who help us operate, such as our messaging carrier, voice provider, payment processor, and hosting provider. They may only use the information to perform services for us.
- When required by law or to protect the safety of a member.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.
How we protect information
We use industry-standard safeguards. Sensitive details such as gate or access codes are encrypted at rest, and access to member data is limited to what is needed to run the service.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages, or change your contact method in your profile.
- Contact us to access, correct, or delete your account information.
- You can close your account at any time from your profile.
Children
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the site — to keep you signed in, to remember your in-progress signup step, and to protect against cross-site request forgery (security tokens). We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not load third-party advertising trackers, and we do not run profile-building analytics that identify you personally. You can clear cookies at any time from your browser settings.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives you the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources we collected it from, the purposes we use it for, and the parties we share it with.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to limited legal exceptions (for example, to complete a transaction you requested or to comply with a legal obligation).
- Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to sell or share your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of, but the right is yours regardless.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — direct us to limit the use of sensitive personal information (for example, precise location, account credentials, or health-related information) to purposes necessary to deliver the service. We already limit our use of this information to delivering the service.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
Categories of personal information we collect. In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents: identifiers (name, email, phone number, IP address); customer-records information (postal address, payment card information processed by Stripe on our behalf); commercial information (subscription tier and history); internet activity (basic site usage); geolocation information (postal address you provide); sensitive personal information (account log-in credentials, gate or access notes you choose to share, pet health notes). We do not collect the categories of "biometric information," "professional or employment-related information," "education information," or "inferences" used to create a profile.
How to exercise your rights. Submit a verifiable request by emailing hello@petguardian.club with the subject line "California Privacy Rights Request." We will verify your identity using information already associated with your account before responding. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require written authorization. We will respond within 45 days and may extend by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, with notice.
"Shine the Light" — California Civil Code §1798.83. California residents may request information about our disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information for third parties' direct marketing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above.
